Camera

The camera is how you view the performance. You can move, zoom, and rotate the camera to get different perspectives of the virtual band.

Camera modes

There are three camera modes:

  • Free camera – You can move the camera freely in 3D space.
  • Auto-cam – The camera automatically highlights the current instruments playing.
  • Slide camera – The camera slowly rotates around the stage.

Free camera

Movement keys

The free camera lets you move the camera freely in 3D space. Use the following keys to control the freecam:

Key Direction
W Forward
S Backward
A Left
D Right
Q Up
Z Down

Left-click drag to rotate the camera. Scroll the mouse wheel to zoom in and out.

Pressing a camera key or clicking the left mouse button activates the free camera.

Camera keys

You can move the free camera to predefined positions using the following keys:

Key Position
1 Overview
2 Keyboards
3 Drums
4 Bass
5 Overhead
6 Guitar

Some predefined camera positions have alternate views: Pressing the same key again switches to the alternate view.

Press ` (the key above Tab) to reset the camera to the default position.

You can control the free camera using touch gestures:

  • Drag with one finger to rotate the camera.
  • Pinch with two fingers to zoom in and out.
  • Drag with two fingers to move the camera.

Tip

If you can't zoom in any further, zoom out first, then rotate the camera perpendicular to the direction you want to zoom in. Pan the camera with two fingers, then rotate and zoom in again.

Why? The camera always orbits around a point in space. When you zoom in, it moves closer to that point. If you are already at that point, you can't zoom in any further. By zooming out and panning, you change the orbit point.
